Donating

The Costume Museum must raise 70 % of its annual operating and project costs from donations, grants and sponsorships. Donors provide us with the ability to get to work on excellent and constantly changing exhibits, maintaining professional standards of research and preservation, and providing students with innovative school programs. Without the support of donors and sponsors, much of this work would simply not be possible.

No matter how much you contribute, it makes a difference. To make a donation and receive a tax receipt please call the museum at 989-0072. All funds go directly to the Costume Museum of Canada.

Ways to donate...

Supporting School Programs

Since moving from Dugald, Manitoba to our downtown Winnipeg location, our school programming has had to undergo major restructuring to reflect our updated exhibit schedules and new urban demographic. You can help by supporting us in our planning stage, outreach, and contract staffing needs.

Exhibit Creation. Exhibit Sponsorship

The Costume Museum is dedicated to producing new exhibits every two months, in both galleries. That.s up to twelve exhibits a year! This is a great way to provide visitors with a new experience every time they come to the museum, and it lets pieces from our collection of 35,000 get out there to be seen by the public. But it's a lot of work! If you would like to support a particular exhibit, or even sponsor an entire exhibit, please refer to our upcoming exhibits webpage and contact us.

Conservation and Research

To give meaning to the objects and history we exhibit, careful scholarly research must be conducted. To keep these artifacts for the benefit of future generations, proper conservation methods need to be maintained. Help us interpret the past and preserve for the future.

Endowment Fund

Our endowment fund, held in trust by the Winnipeg Foundation, is being built to assist with the museum.s long term financial stability. Every year we receive the interest produced by the fund.
